WOMEN'S CELL- 'UDAAN'

The Women cell is a humble attempt to empower women to become the societal transformers. The aim of the Udaanis to empower firstly, the Women in the college. In 2017-18Udaan was formulated under the coordination of Dr. MahimaTripathiand Dr. Garima Singh. All the Programs were conducted under the leadership of College President, in 2019 MsSurabhiPandey (B.Sc Bio III year) and the executive members. There were motivational sessions conducted by eminent women leaders in the college, the former Mayors Smt. AnjuChawdhary and DrSatyaPandey are the names from the list. THE PROGRAMS ARE, 1) Workshops on Self Defence, Safety of Women, Cyber Crimewere conducted with the help of Gorakhpur Police Force in the college. With the collaboration of PurvanchalGraminSevaSamiti (PGSS), the college organized training programs to the women in our collegefor preparing detergent powder, Dish wash and Hand wash. Ms. Kanchan and Sr Maria were the resource persons.

INAUGURATION OF WOMEN CELL ACTIVITIES SPONSORED BY PGSS

Fr. Benny (Bursar) inaugurated women cell activities on 22 October 2019. PGSS sponsored all the activities during the academic year, 2019-20. Dr. Fr Roger Principal in charge gave the presidential address. The felicitation was delivered by Dr. Preety Mishra HOD, dept., of Education. Teacher Coordinator of the PGSS project, MrPawan Mishra welcomed the program and vote of thanks was given by ShambhaviPandey (BSc. Bio. II year).

SEMINAR ON CARRIER GUIDANCE AND CARRIER COUNSELLING

Women Cell conducted a seminar on Carrier Guidance and Counselling on 17-12-19 in the college auditorium at 11.45 am to 12.30 pm. Resource person was Sr. Salitta, (AC) Principal, Carmel Inter College. About 125 students participated in the program.

SELF DEFENsE, Safe Motherhood PROGRAMME

Women cell (Udaan) conducted a Self Defense program on 05.08.2019 in the college auditorium at 1.00 p.m to 2.15 pm. The Resource person Dr. Tulika Mishra, DDU Gorakhpur University.. There was a session on ‘safe motherhood’ on 26 February 2020 by Dr. ElsyChandy, Gynecologist, at 12.30. p.m. till 2.30. p.m. Almost 200 students participated.

PUPPET SHOW BY PGSS

PGSS organized a puppet show to give awareness on cleanliness. It was conducted on 22 January 2020. More than 350 students attended it
