St. Joseph’s College for Women has two NSS units (  Mother Teresa & St. Pushpa) having 200 students as NSS volunteers and they are working under program officers Dr. Ruhi Agrawal and Dr. Vandana Tripathi. In this academic year our NSS unit rendered several services to the society. We have started with plantation of trees in our campus on world environment day .ie June 5th 2018. Subsequently an orientation class was conducted for newly admitted volunteers. The NSS unit has adopted the village Hasanganj, at Jangal Dhusan for their national service. They conduct two camps, fifteen days and seven days camps in the village. The students conduct different drives for cleaning, plantation, literacy, awareness to stay healthy etc. in the Covid- 9, the NSS unit was very active in making food packets every day for the stranded people over a month. More than 7000 food packets, 500 masks, 300 gloves, 100 face shields, and 50 liters of sanitizers were distributed among people. There are rallies conducted in collaboration with the Eco Club for spreading  awareness to have a better, green and clean planet. NSS students celebrate youth day, yoga day by making videos and uploading in the college YouTube channel and university portal. The students participate in the University level programs and all other common rallies in the University without any fail. The NSS students participate in the Gorakhpur Mahotsav. In the year 2013, the previous Program Officer of NSS DrMeena awarded the best Program Officer of NSS under DDU Gorakhpur University.
